“ The positions were amazing for the price point. The chicken was worth every penny! We could have easily shared. The service was 5 stars! This cosy little spot is worth a revisit! Yummmmm ”
“ Great neighborhood Portugese spot. Owner is very attentive and the food is very well prepared. Great stop during the Cherry Blossom Festival. ”
“ This spot is a true hidden gem. One of the co-owners is Daniel and he is the friendliest!!! I honestly felt like I was in a 5 star restaurant. It literally was the little things that made this such a great experience. He held the door open for a customer carrying a lot of bags and who was struggling to open the door, handed us a paper towel after we each used the restroom (also it's a basic bathroom but clean!!), and this was THE icing on top: moved us to the other side of the small room because he said the wind draft would hit us when the door opens. He came over to talk to us because he said it can only be a good or bad thing if customers were quiet when eating the food. Well food was great and he was so friendly and shared a bit of his family's experience and history with food. Food wise we ordered the soup of the day (chicken), garlic shrimp, salmon, and beef rib. Also had some local Portuguese sodas. The salmon truly surprised me because it was crispy and tasty!! He also mentioned it's a BYOB and liquor wine store was across the street. Love this place. RUN don't walk!!! ”
“ My daughter's graduation party was a success. This place makes great dishes. Portuguese and Italian. ”
“ Good food, good service. I especially like the spicy pork stew. The beef and pork ribs are always good also ”
“ The food is great and perfectly seasoned, if you like a little spice ask for his homemade hot sauce. You have to check out this hidden gem on Bloomfield Ave. in North Newark... plus the owner is awesome!!! Good Eats! :) ”
“ Food was delicious. Presentable party trays with big portions. Reasonable price. Also offer delivery ”
“ Wonderful dining experience!! If you love Portuguese food, this place is probably the best around. Small establishment but big flavors. Everything my family tried, we have enjoyed. Great amount of food for the prices, keeps us returning weekly. There's enough of an assortment for everyone to enjoy something. Cooks are exceptional at what they do. Every bite is delicious and packed with incredible tastes. Staff are friendly and keep the restaurant looking tidy. They keep up with the customers, never seem to be any long waits. Most importantly the food arrives quick! We'll be returning again soon, definitely should check it out if you haven't been before. ”
“ I could probably eat the frango a Lena here at least once a week if not more. Atmosphere: small, but never busy since I've been a frequent customer. Order at the front and sit, or call ahead and pick up, or call and have delivered if you're within range Food: all I'm gonna say is you need to try the frango a Lena. It's what makes this place. They cook chicken in olive oil and garlic. It's doused in it as it comes out and it almost looks like fried chicken but it isn't. The flavor is amazing, the chicken is tender and you can drizzle the oil on the rice and fries and ugh I'm drooling thinking about it now. Also, a half can comfortably feed two and it's only $11! I've also tried the half chicken and rib combo, and although it's plentiful I'd have to say I enjoy the pork ribs at ferry street BBQ much better. Service: impeccable. Friendly, fast, and conversational people work here. This is unmatched compared to any other BBQ place we've been to. I'll be back for you soon, frangoooo ”
